Cookie & Local Storage Disclosure
This disclosure explains the cookies and browser storage used on evidentcorp.com (the "Site") as of the Last Updated date above. It forms part of our Privacy Policy. The Site is deliberately light on cookies and, as of that date, we do not deploy analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking technologies.
1. We use no analytics or advertising cookies
As of the Last Updated date above, the Site does not load Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or other third-party analytics or advertising technology. We do not build advertising profiles or share your browsing behavior with advertisers.
2. Strictly necessary cookies (bot protection)
Two of our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish human users from automated bots. In connection with Turnstile and hosting the Site, Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies, for example to complete a bot-protection challenge. These technologies support Site security and are not used by Evident for advertising or cross-site tracking. Where permitted by applicable law, strictly necessary cookies do not require consent.
3. Browser storage used by the chat assistant
If you use our on-site chat assistant ("Eve" or the "Assistant"), it stores a small amount of information in your browser’s local storage so the Assistant works across your visit and can resume a returning conversation. It does not store your conversation content or contact details in your browser; those are held on our platform as described in the Privacy Policy. The stored items are:
- A chat session token: a random identifier that links you to your ongoing conversation with the assistant. It persists between visits so the assistant can recognize a returning conversation. This is the one item that functions like a persistent identifier.
- A panel-state value: remembers whether you had the chat panel open or closed.
- A suppression timestamp: if present, tells the assistant not to reappear until a certain time.
You can clear this storage at any time through your browser settings, which will reset the assistant.
4. Managing cookies and storage
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and clear local storage through their settings. Because the Site uses only strictly necessary security cookies and the chat storage described above, blocking them will not break the informational pages, though it may affect the bot-protection step on our forms or reset the chat assistant.
5. Changes
Before deploying a new cookie or storage technology, including analytics, we will assess the related privacy and consent requirements. We will update this disclosure and, where required, provide an appropriate notice or consent mechanism.
